Accessibility Partners can audit your product’s accessibility following the parameters of Section 508 or the CVAA. For a number of people with disabilities, there are certain considerations with respect to hardware devices. A disability consisting of limited dexterity, strength and movement, as well as blindness or low vision can make proper utilization of hardware difficult due to poorly designed hardware features. Are you preparing to release or sell a new hardware product, but you need accessibility information? Our audit concludes with the generation of recommendations and VPATs®. These deliverables will allow your organization to monitor your existing compliance and improve upon any accessibility deficiencies.

For hardware, the products will be tested based on applicable Section 508 or other accessibility requirements using various test tools, assistive technologies, and people with and without disabilities. Measurements will be taken for placement of the device to ensure that people with mobility or dexterity disabilities can access the equipment. This guarantees that people with some mobility and dexterity disabilities can still utilize this hardware device.

Accessibility Partners will also test to see how a user who might be blind or have low vision would interact with the interface of your hardware products. Our accessibility engineers will use a pressure gauge to determine where devices have any contact-sensitive controls, and that the input method complies with Section 508 and other requirements.

Following a hardware audit, we will record all of our findings in a VPAT® or other compliance document, as well as provide findings in an optional accessibility report.
